Congratulations to Mick who has completed the National Grid Person refresher course ensuring he has sufficient technical knowledge or experience to avoid danger, keeping himself and others safe when on substation sites conducting (no pun intended) acoustic surveys which often involve noise modelling. the course consists of classroom training followed by e-learning and assessment on underpinning Substation or Overhead Line knowledge, e-learning and assessment in relation to the dangers of Impressed Voltage and a practical health and safety Substation or Overhead line assessment. Individuals must bring their own PPE for the practical assessment.
individuals are required to confirm that general health and safety awareness has been successfully undertaken prior to course attendance. Some examples include SHEA Power and courses affiliated with the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS card) and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB card).
